A farm walk to see the new lambs, chicks, pigs, cows, geese
Chick Incubation
Butchery demonstrations of veal and pork
Sausage-making
Charcuterie and smoking demonstrations
A cook- out using our own meat products (vegetarian option)

A presentation about sustainable livestock systems by Simon Fairlie- author of the new book “Meat- The Benign Extravagance”.

Anyone else slightly surprised by the availability of a vegetarian option?!
Hmmmm. After my bit about becoming a Part-time Carnivore I'm not sure how to respond. To take Hedgewizard's view if we're going to eat meat we should do it with less enthusiasm (not sure that's the right word) and do the animal justice by eating it all. Maybe this event will inspire those meat eaters amongst us to partake of, and savour, the less choice cuts.
